Our Team

David Grubbs

Dave graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Architecture.  He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.  He is NCARB certified and is licensed in several Midwest states.  He founded Grubbs & Associates after working at other St. Louis area firms.  He is involved with every project in the office and especially enjoys construction detailing.

In his spare time he enjoys playing golf and studying foreign languages, including Italian and Spanish.

Karen Gulick

Like her father, Karen also holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Kansas State and an MBA from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  She is NCARB certified and is licensed in Missouri.  She is especially interested in Senior Living design and assists with the marketing and business development activities of the firm.

When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys, knitting and crafting.

Todd Hageman

Todd received a Bachelor of Technology in Architectural Technology from Washington University.  He is licensed in Missouri and Illinois and is a LEED Accredited Professional with a Specialty in Building Design + Construction.  He is the office code expert and has much experience with Senior Living Design.

In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.

Doug Light

Doug graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Architecture.  He spends much of his time doing Construction Administration and makes field visits as our projects are being built.  His understanding of what actually happens in the field has made him an important resource in the office.

When he’s not working, Doug enjoys outdoor activities, playing softball, cooking and competitive BBQ.

Nick Ketchum

Nick received his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology from Ranken Technical College in 2012.  As an architectural intern, he has much experience with Revit, our modeling and drafting software.

In his spare time he enjoys playing the guitar and piano, sketching, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
